ScienceDaily reported that a partial ban of lead ammunition resulted in a 50% reduction in waterfowl poisoning in Spain since 2001. Lead shot was banned in 2001 in Spanish wetlands that were on the Ramsar List of areas of international importance. Although the ban covered only a parti of Spain the impact was significant.
