The Press Democrat reported on a decision by U.S. federal appeals court that denied Drakes Bay Oyster Company’s request for a rehearing in its year-old case of the Oyster Farm farm in Point Reyes National Seashore against the federal government. This is the third time federal courts have rejected the oyster farm request to harvest non-native oysters in a federal protected estuary. Conservation groups strongly support this decision.
However, the oyster farm won’t quit and says it plans to bring its case to the U.S. Supreme Court. Hopefully, the Supreme Court will not even hear the case and the threat to the protected water wilderness will be over. The Court only hears about 1 percent of the cases it receives

Natural History Wanderings 
Not all conservationists are in favor of removing the oyster farm. Point Reyes is no more a wilderness than is my NWF certified backyard wildlife habit. The oysters do more to improve the bay than harm it.
