The 2014 Quadrantids meteor shower is visible from January 1 to 5 with the peak being January 3. It is considered one of the best and can produce up to 100 meteors per hour There is a new moon on January 1 so this will be a good year to view the Quadrantids. It is best viewed form the Northern Hemisphere between nightfall and dawn. Meteors will be coming from the constellation Bootes.
