Asheville NC Fall Foliage Color Leaf Report 2013 has updated their fall color report today for the Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountains:
Winter weather arrives early! October weather has been mild so far (so peak color is running 5-7 days later than usual). But it’s 20 degrees this morning atop Mt. Mitchell with some snow on the way later today in the highest mountains. Bring your winter coat! This weekend will be beautiful with highs mostly in the 50s. Perfect weather for a hike or to find waterfalls! Drive the Forest Heritage Scenic Byway. The Blue Ridge Parkway will have the best color for the next two weeks.
