Asheville NC Fall Foliage Color Leaf Report 2013 reports on 10/22/13
October weather has been mild (so peak color is running 5-7 days later than usual), but much colder temperatures arrive later this week. Bring your winter coat! Highs will only be in the 40s in the higher elevations on Wednesday-Saturday. Some flurries in highest elevations on Thursday. Best color now is above 3,000 feet elevation. Colder weather will speed up the change. Drive the Forest Heritage Scenic Byway. The Blue Ridge Parkway will have the best color for the next two weeks. See Shadow of the Bear near Highlands.
