Natural History Wanderings

You will notice there have been no new fall color reports from the National Forests since Oct. 1.  Another victim of the government shutdown has been the websites of the National Forests and National Parks. Unlike the National Parks which have for the most part been closed, National Forests remain open. However the visitor centers are closed and the websites are not being updated. I  continue to publish fall color reports from all other sites and will resume posting reports from the National Forests if the sites reopen before the end of fall foliage season.
