The Rocky Mt. Nature Photographers Forum has a number of color reports and photos since yesterday’s report. Fall color is still early in most spots. Here are some new highlights all are dated 9/22/13.
- Steamboat this weekend and saw only a few patches of color here and there. We drove Buffalo Pass but only saw a few groves with any color. The narrowleaf cottonwoods along the river on Hwy. 131 between Wolcott and Yampa have some nice color.
- Lake City, color about 50% and having some heavy rain today.
- Durango to Uray today. No color in uray right now. Once you get out of the canyon on the way to silverton, you see some color all the way to molar pass
- Guanella Pass (visited 9/21&22; photo above from today 9/22) is well underway with more today than yesterday and plenty more to come. The marshy areas are turned nicely and everything is looking healthy. Lots of tarns and the creek is really flowing thanks to recent rain.
Kenosha Pass (visited 9/21) barely even started.
Boreas Pass (visited 9/21) has begun and will be looking good in a few days or so.
Mt Evans road (visited 9/21) has begun turning a little.
