Why Some Plants Do Better Than Others?

Science Daily reported on a study that helped explain why some plants are rare and others common as well as why some exotic species are invasive and others are not. Some of the factors that determined plants being more common or easily spread included:

  • producing a large number of seeds
  • how well a plant adapts to physical conditions
  • how well a plant withstands herbivores, pathogens and competitors
