Gary Regner Photography has the following new wildflower report for Central Texas:
Dry heat has set in here in central Texas with daily temperatures hovering around 100 degrees. The only appreciable wildflowers still in bloom are wild sunflowers, but even they are showing stress due to the heat and lack of rain. I spotted a few bluebells blooming along Toll Road 130, one of the few wildflowers that seem to love the heat of summer. Bluebells have become increasingly rare due to indiscriminate picking, so if you are lucky enough to come across some, please leave them be so they can produce seed and come back in future years.
