Gary Regner Photography has a new wildflower update
Glimmer of Hope?
Yesterday evening I took a walk with my dog exploring some local undeveloped fields and was surprised to find a carpet of tiny wildflower plants. It appears that there are indeed many wildflowers waiting to bloom, but are most likely just waiting for some rain to bring them to life. In one spot approximately one square foot in area I counted over 20 tiny bluebonnets seedlings, most no larger than a quarter. One even had a tiny little flower. In other areas I found tiny stork bill seedlings too numerous to count.I believe this may be the case in the Hill Country as well. If we get some decent rain, we may still see nice fields of bluebonnets this year. The forecast at the moment gives us a chance of rain today through Wednesday, with a 50% chance on Tuesday.
