I was birding at Aquatic Park in Berkeley, CA today. The highlights were seeing Forster’s Terns’ dramatic diving for fish and finding Semi-palmated Plovers (first time I have found them on my own). Also nice to see Red-breasted Mergansers, a Common Loon and Canvasback. Of course American Coots were most plentiful. But there were good numbers of shorebirds which included Dowitchers, Western and Least Sandpipers, Dunlin, American Avocet and Black-necked Stilt. I had a total of thirty-nine different birds today.
