Texas Wildflower Updates 3/14/13

Wildflower Haven has a number of new wildflower reports for Texas:

Dallas/Ft. Worth area  I’ve been driving throughout the Metroplex area this week and saw the first bluebonnets blooming in Irving, George Bush Turnpike and Northgate Dr area
Ennis Along the interstate between Corsicana and Ferris area, the plants are easy to spot. Not many blooms but more than a month ago, and considering the cooler weather we’ve had it doesn’t surprise me. I drove along a few different roads. In the ditches some can be seen easily but in other places the plants are still smaller.
Llano bluebonnets in bloom along SH-29 between Llano and RR-1341. Also some along RR-1341 towards Kingsland. The patches are small and mainly along the side of the roads with some approaching the fence line. also some paintbrush in bloom. None of these were large areas.
Bluebonnet hill in Rob Fleming Park here in The Woodlands has some nice blooms but is showing stress from lack of rain,  too much wind and of course little people. It looks like the hill is having a sub par year. The park is on Creekside Forest Drive off of Gossling Road.
Houston Several bluebonnets on 281 median north of 1604.  Scattered bluebonnets next to IH-10 in Leon Springs near Leon Springs Elementary and the Leon Springs Dance Hall.
