Southern Arizona
Feb 27, 2013 Picacho Peak State Park reports: It’s still early in the season at Picacho Peak State Park. There are a few scattered poppies.
Feb 27, 2013 Saguaro National Park reports: Spring is springing! Lots of little green seedlings are emerging all across the park, and a few poppies are popping in the Tucson Mountain District.
Northern Arizona
March 1, 2013 San Tan Mountains down Dynamite Trail and were lucky enough to spot wildflowers a short distance down the trail (north end starting from Goldmine Trailhead parking lot). Mexican Poppies and Lupines.
Feb 28, 2013 Lost Dutchman State Park reports: it is still very early in the season.A few wildflowers in bloom.
Feb 27, 2013 Bartlett Lake was surprised that there were no signs of poppies yet. It also seemed very dry and very few shoots and or stalks in the area. Afterward I drove out through Fountain Hills and spotted a few poppy patches between the Beeline Highway/87 and Saguaro Lake. Usery Mountain also showed a few blooms near the entrance to the park.
