Feral Cats Serious Threat To Endemic Mediterranean

ScienceDaily reported on the threat feral cats pose to the Yelkouan Shearwater on the French island of Le Levant. The Yelkouan Shearwater is endemic to Mediterranean islands, nests on the ground, and is described as clumsy. This makes the birds’ survival very vulnerable to the aggressive feral cats. The solution would be to trap and remove all the non-native feral cats from the islands. Read more at: Invasion of feral cats could see the end of a seabird endemic to the Mediterranean
