Birding Hidden Lakes Park 1/26/13

Cedar Waxwings

Today the Birding by Ear class went to Hidden Lakes Park in Martinez, CA.  It is a 16 acre city park yet over 150 bird species have been seen here. The Park is also site of a former bordello.

Today we identified by sound and sight 46 bird species.    The highlights for today were a Merlin, Peregrine Falcon, good looks of Red-shouldered Hawks and good views and sounds of Cedar Waxwings. Waterbirds were very scarce. The best spotting of the day may have been river otters.
