Scotland To Get A National Tree?

While England (UK?) has the Royal Oak as a national tree, Scotland is considering naming the Scots Pine as its national tree. Having a national tree could serve as a “national symbol” of Scotland’s committment to environmental protection. Support for the national tree proposal  includes the Scottish Wildlife Trust, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, the Woodland Trust Scotland and Trees for Life.
