I was again birding along the Bay Trail between Point Isabel Regional Park and Shimada Friendship Park in Richmond. The highlight was getting to see a Clapper Rail. Only the second time I have seen one. Today was the first time I identified Sanderlings and second time I have seen Canvasbacks on the trail. I also saw Black Oystercatchers one of my favorite birds. Surprisingly missing today were Brown Pelicans.
To see today’s birdlist of the 41 birds I identified go to: Pt. Isabel Regional Shoreline Birdlist 1/6/13
