Arizona and New Mexico National Forest Fall Color Update 11/23/12

New fall color report from the Arizona and New Mexico National Forests

  Arizona

    Tonto National Forest

  • Cave Creek Ranger District – The trees in the Seven Springs area are at 100%. The most prevalent color is rust with some green and vivid gold. Trees in the Needle Rock are at 30%, displaying some amber and yellow, although they are mostly green. The bushes in the Box Bar camp area have changed to an amber color.
  • Payson Ranger District – Red, orange, gold and yellow leaves are falling quickly with the change of weather. The season for color changes in this area is quickly reaching its end.

Fall colors are done for the season on the following Arizona National Forests:  Apache-Sitgreaves, Coconino, Coronado, Kaibab and Prescott.

New Mexico  

  Fall colors are done for the season on all of New Mexico’s National Forests
