After 80 years A Missing Finch Reappears

The BBC reports that a treker on the Tibetan plateau has found a Sillem’s Mountain Finch, which has not been seen in 80 years. He only found the bird as had stayed in camp sick with food poisoning.

It was originally thought to be a race of Brandt’s Mountain Finch. in 1992 an ornithologist studied two collected species discovered  that the Sillem’s Mountain Finch was a separate species.
