A number of lightning strikes have ignited several small fires in the park. The Park is currently fighting the Reading Fire, started on July 23, which is at 7100 feet in elevation about one mile northeast of Paradise Meadows between the Terrace Lake and Paradise Meadow Trails.
There is activity, temporary road, trail, and campground closures are in effect. Most of the main park remains open for visitors. For more and current information go to: Current Fire Activity – Lassen Volcanic National Park.
