The Socal Wander blog reported that the California State Parks Foundation has received $330, 000 in grants from the S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation and the Thomas J. Long Foundation. The funds will be divided into grants to fund non-profits to run 13 parks.
It included funds for the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park Interpretive Association to keep Palomar Mountain State Park open. The article pointed out that of the 15 state parks that have funding to stay open temporarily , only three — Jack London, Bothe-Napa Valley, and Bale Grist Mill — have signed agreements in place with the state to stay open after July 1. The other 12 parks that have temporary funding to stay open are still waiting upon agreements to be finalized.
