May 5 Is The Biggest full moon of 2012

May 5 will be the biggest full moon of 2012.  The moon turns full at 11:35 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time and just 25 minutes later it will arrive at its closest point to the Earth in 2012,; only 221,801 miles away. Expect a large range in ocean tides (exceptionally low to exceptionally high) for the next few days

It’s on my calendar. Fortunately, it’s in the evening here instead of the wee hours of the morning.
