May 5 will be the biggest full moon of 2012. The moon turns full at 11:35 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time and just 25 minutes later it will arrive at its closest point to the Earth in 2012,; only 221,801 miles away. Expect a large range in ocean tides (exceptionally low to exceptionally high) for the next few days
