Thanks to Spencer Westbrook for submitting the following update on the wildflower bloom for the Gorman Hills:
The late rains have produced a small color show on the Gorman hills along I-5. Among the bloom are large patches of purple/pink phacelia, poppies, coreopsis, and lupine. Upon closer inspection one can find primrose, red maids, baby blue eyes and pincushion.
The displays are for the most part on the sides of rather steep, grass covered slopes. Also, the fence line along much of the Post Road has been removed near the ponds but I would think this is private property so use your own judgement upon entering the area.
This is certainly a bright spot in an otherwise dry year with little to display.
Please respect all private property and limit your wildflower viewing to public lands.
