I went to Aquatic Park in Berkeley, which is next to interstate 80. I saw I.D.’d 26 species plus scaup, gulls and hybrid ducks. The most dominant birds were Scaup, Coots, Bufflehead and Mallard and Hybrid Ducks. The highlights were being able to get very close to a Great Blue Heron, Nine Snowy Egrets roosting in the trees, watching two Forster’s Terns in action, and watching Brown Pelicans fish. Also seen were Monarch Butterflies, California Poppies and Ceanothus.
