Naturalist Walks: Sacramento And Sutter National Wildlife Refuges

The Sacramento River  and Sutter National Wildlife Refuges have four naturalist-led walks focusing on the diversity of bird life in riparian habitats.

Sacramento River National Wildlife Refuge

  • Saturday, March 17 at Packer Unit 8-10 a.m. Located off of Highway 45 north of Princeton in Glenn County
  • Friday, April 13 at Pine Creek Unit 8-10 a.m. Located off of Highway 32 on the east side of the River in Butte County
  • Saturday, May 12 at Capay Unit 7:30-9:30 a.m. Located off County Road 23 south of Hamilton City in Glenn County

Sutter National Wildlife Refuge

  • Saturday, May 5 from 7 – 9 a.m. Located in Sutter County west of Yuba City. Visit a section of the Refuge only open to visitors from February 15 – June 30.
