Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve SNR posts the following wildflower report:

“The Visitor Center will open and tours will begin for the 2012 wildflower season on Sunday, March 18.Wildflower Bloom StatusIts been a dry winter so far, and very few poppy plants have germinated. The recent rains might surprise us with more plants but its still to early to tell at this point. The hills are currently tinged green with the beginnings of grasses, and a few fiddleneck and slender-keeled fruit are already blooming right along the trail. See Current Photos.  Not a lot else going on at the moment. Check in again in March for bloom updates, and hopefully better predictions.”
