Updated 1/16/12
Today was the first field trip of a “Birding by Ear” class I am taking with Denise Wight through the Audubon Nature Studies program offered by Albany Adult School and Golden Gate Audubon. Today’s trip was in the Inspiration Point Area of Tilden Park and East Bay Municipal Water District (EBMUD) lands along the Nimitz Way and Inspiration Trail. (please note if you want to hike on EBMUD lands you need a permit) Even with the current drought conditions we managed to identify 35 species by sight and sound. As I was emphasizing listening and looking at the birds I didn’t do much photography today, but will update this posting with links to photos from other class members when they are available. To see a list of the birds seen and heard today click on Read More. To see photos from the field trip check Bob Stockstad’s Inspiration Point Field Trip Photos
