California Considers Pika For Endangered Status

The California Fish and Game Commission has designated the America Pika as a candidate for protection as an endangered species.  As temperatures increase pikas have disappeared from  the lower elevation part of their traditional range. Twice in the past the commission had not given the pika endangered status; however courts ordered them to reevaluate their findings. Read more at YubaNet California Commission Advances Climate-threatened Pika Toward Legal Protection.
