British Endangered List Adds Two Birds

The British endangered list has two new birds: the Willow Tit and Lesser Spotted Woodpecker. The populations of both birds have experienced large declines since the 1970″s.  It is not known for sure why the bird populations have had such steep drops. It is possible that it is due to changes in the woodlands.   In addition, the Long-eared Owl, Short-eared Owl and Arctic Skua  have been have been identified as at risk. Read more at: BBC News – Willow tit and lesser spotted woodpecker on at-risk list.
