The endangered hawksbill turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) was believed to have disappeared from the Eastern Pacific between Mexico and Peru. However it has shown up unexpectedly in mangrove estuaries. Their traditional habitats are coral reefs, where they had been slaughtered in the past for their shells. Read more at:
