Colorado Fall Color: San Juan Mountains and More – Updated 9/20/11

The San Juan Mountains in Colorado are known for their wildflowers and four-wheel drive roads.  It is also a good place to see fall foliage.

Box Canyon Lodge posted an article describing three back country routes near the town of Ouray that will appeal to photographers and leaf peepers.

  • Ouray County Road 7 – Blue Lakes Trailhead
  • Ouray County Road 9 – Box Factory Park
  • Ouray County Road 14A – On the Way to Cutler Creek Trailhead
