The recent spotting of Otters in Kent marks the return of Otters to all English counties. Otters had almost disappeared in England in the 1970’s due to pollution and pesticides damaging their health and reducing the supply of fish that is a mainstay of their die. Improved water quality and legal protections have assisted in the population’s recovery. England’s rivers are now the cleanest they have been in over 20 years.
