An Online Journal of Sierra Nevada Natural History
I recently became aware of Sierra Nature Notes. It is an online journal whose goal is to present reader friendly news articles about research and discoveries in the natural history of the Sierra Nevada as well as environmental threats. Links to some past articles:
- Persistence of pikas in two low-elevation national monuments in the western United States
- Winter Wildlife in Tuolumne Meadows Yosemite National Park
- COLLAPSE! Why do the Salmon Continue to Disappear from Our Mother Lode Rivers?
- Poorly managed livestock grazing causes major impacts to water, wildlife, and recreation on the Stanislaus Forest
- The Mountain Yellow-legged Frog is Recovering in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks
- Twentieth Century Glacier Change in the Sierra Nevada, California
- Using bat assemblages as a measure of ecosystem health
