The Kern Valley Hummingbird Celebration is at the Audubon Kern River Preserve at 18747 Highway 178 in 
Weldon, CA
. on August 6, 2011
 from 8 AM to 2 PM.  The Southern Sierra’s Kern River Valley is one of the premier migration routes for six species of hummingbirds.  There will be walks, talks and hummingbird observation at feeders.   There is no pre-registration and the event is free.  A voluntary donation of $10 is suggested to help support the festival.  For more information go to: http://kern.audubon.org/hummer_fest.htm
