A new strategy is being developed to deal with invasive fish species. It is to put them on the menu by making them a desirable food. This is a strategy that follows the use of invasive dandelion greens in salads. Celebrity chefs are being recruited to develop recipes using invasive fish. It is hoped that by reducing the population of invasive species they will be less of a threat to native and more fragile species.Whether this can successfully reduce invasive populations remains to be seen. There could even be the potential problem of creating a such large demand that we see the development of invasive species fish farms.
