Habitat Preserved For Leatherback Sea Turtles, But Is It Enough?
This week the U.S. federal government in response to a lawsuit from environmental groups agreed to protect sections of coastal water to protect the Leatherback Sea Turtles. Environmental groups believe the area protected is insufficient and should be larger. Leatherbacks are the largest sea turtles and can be as long as eight feet and weigh as much as 2000 pounds.
