I went back to the Regional Parks Botanic Garden in Tilden Park yesterday (6/3/11). It was good flower photography weather. A bright cloudy day with little wind. Once again I started with a macro lens on my camera and never took it off. The photos in today’s slideshow are all close-ups except one display shot of the California Poppies that were blooming.
I spent some time photographing Western Azaleas (Rhododendron occidentale). The stamens and pistils were particularly interesting and I added a close-up lens/filter to the front of the macro so I could get even closer. You will see some of the plants I photographed in the last two weeks and a number of new ones as well. There is much in bloom making it is an excellent time to visit the garden.
