Are California State Parks a New Endangered Species?
One solution California is proposing to deal with the state budget deficit is to close 70 state parks. The closure plan is not yet final, and this summer’s camping reservations are being honored.

The California State Parks Foundation had the following posting on their website that includes action you can take:
“On May 13th, the Department of Parks and Recreation released their proposed list of park closures due to a $22 million general fund budget cut. This list may grow, depending on the Governor’s May Budget Revision, so check back often.
Below you can click on the names of the parks, or the map markers, to see a description of what will be lost if these parks are allowed to close.
You can take action here by sending your legislators a letter telling them that you do not support the closure of state parks.”
