Anza Borrego Wildflower Update 3/26/11

On March 26,2011 the Anza-Borrego Desert Natural History Association reports:

Look to the sides of the mountains and hills as the yellow flowers of Brittlebush appear. At a place like Round Granite Hill, it’s the Desert Gold Poppy that provides the yellow color. For blue flowers, climb a hill like Alcoholic Pass, Coyote Mountain, or the West Butte of Borrego Mountain (not necessarily all the way) and look for Bristly Langloisia. In places like Desert Gardens, Ocotillo Flat, and the Elephant Trees Trail, Beavertail Cactus provides touches of red.”
