Early Season Flowers at Blake Garden

Close-up Photography at Blake

After a rewarding birding but frustrating photographically  day at Pt. Reyes yesterday, I decided to go to Blake Garden in Kensington, CA.   There just weren’t many birds up close yesterday.  There was no problem getting close to the flowers.  I just needed to stay in the shade for even light and wait for the breeze to stop.  I started with my macro lens on the camera and never took it off.  Here is some of what is out:

    Sandy,

I enjoy your flowers, birds, etc. I am amazed how you get the time. What camera set up do you use to get the flower photos. Camera, lens, etc.

    Thanks

I mainly use a digital SLR with 100 macro lens and tripod. My newest camera (canon 60D) has live-view which is great for zooming in and doing tact sharp manual focus. Live view work betters than auto focus for close-up macro. Thanks for continuing to follow Natural History Wanderings. You are one of the first two e mail subscribers to the blog
