Blake Garden in Winter

A Quick Winter Visit to Blake

My quick winter visit to Blake Garden was even shorter than expected, when my new camera froze.  The problem as usual turned out to be operator error.  I had accidentally locked the remote, which was plugged into the camera and froze most of the controls.  As I recently got my first DSLR camera with live-view, I have been eager to get out and I don’t think I have ever been to Blake Garden in Kensington, CA  in winter.  Blake usually has few visitors and today was no exception.   To read about Blake read my post A Secret Garden – Blake

Here are a few photos from today.

Very nice, Sandy. The clarity of your images is superb.

I think live view and better autofocus points on my new Canon 60D helped a lot. I have also changed my digital darkroom work flow and techniques after reading Michael Frye’s e-book Light and Land: Landscapes in the Digital Darkroom as well as looking at the video tutorials on curves and white balance at his blog In the Moment: A Landscape Photography Blog
