Below are three organizations that have calendars of nature oriented programs.
- Marin Open Space District Newsletter including fall Naturalist-led walks in Marin County. go to: http://maringov.org/Depts/PK/Main/Newsletter.aspx and then click on fall 2010 News & Events
- Mt. Tamalpais Interpretive Association has hikes and programs on Mt. Tamalpais: http://www.mttam.net/ Click on: 2010Q3 hiking schedule
- Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District has activities in Santa Clara, San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties. Calendar of Activities: http://www.openspace.org/activities/
Also check the Bay Nature Calendar which lists many natural history events in the Bay Area.
Even if you don’t like to go with groups, you might check out the above links. They are good sources of places to go, what you might see, and when to go.

Those are my photos that scroll at the top of the screen at mttam.net, but apparently the web master who created the “skin” left and the new person can’t change it, which is why I’m stuck with a photo credit at the bottom of the page that goes to a long-defunct web site. 😉
