There were many flowers in bloom at the native plants Regional Parks Botanic Garden. Many more than I would have guessed for the beginning of July and too many to I.D. or make a plant list even with many plants are labeled. Many Lilies and Clarkias were in bloom in throughout the garden and can not be missed. If you go, make sure you check out the bulb beds on both sides of the garden as you will find several Calochortus species in bloom including the yellow weedii, a yellow globe lily and a white mariposa tulip. Some other flowers of note were the red Western Columbine, the white-yellow Sierra Columbine, Wooly Blue-curls, Cactus, and many buckwheats.
For photographers there were both good displays and interesting species for close-ups. The sun can be strong, like it was today, so I would recommend getting there early (the garden opens at 8:30 AM) on a cloudy/foggy day or bringing a diffuser for close-up work.
