Birding The Cevennes and Causses in France

While driving and hiking in Cevennes and Grand Causses in France, I kept a list of the birds I was able to identify..  The areas I was in included Causse Mejean; Causse du Larzac; Lapanouse; Le Rozier, Gorges de la Jonte, and the Gorges du Tarn.  The biggest highlight was seeing Griffon Vultures. This was the first time I recorded a Chiffcaff. I probably have seen it before but never identified it or wrote it down. The House Sparrow and Common Raven are the same as the ones I see at home in the U.S.

Here are  photos of some of the birds I saw from photos found on the internet that are licensed for reuse.  The drives and hikes I did were from the Crossbill guide to the Cevennes and the Grand Causses. To see the list of birds seen click Read More
