California Fall Foliage Updated 10/29/10

Updated 10/29/10

California Fall Color has just put up a new posting (10/29/10) that gives a detailed and positive report on fall foliage for the Shasta Cascade region in Northern California. He reports peaking color at Burney Falls State Park, Lassen National Park, Trinity county, Plumas county and Modoc National Forest.   Check site for details.

The top current report is Best Bets for fall leaf color, Oct. 29-31 in the Sacramento Bee. Dave Henry reports many areas in the Eastern Sierra are now passed peak and that June Lake is probably the best Eastern Sierra place to go for fall color this weekend.  He also reports good color at Christmas Valley, Hope Valley and Monitor Creek.  Check the Sierra Fall Colors map to see current fall color ratings  throughout the Eastern Sierra.

In a Quick Note About Yosemite Valley Color Michael Frye reports that Yosemite Valley color is very late.  He state that the maples are about 50 % turned and everything else is showing much less color.  He mentions a few good spots to check out in his posting.
