Joshua Tree Elk Fire

From Joshua Tree National Park

Today firefighters have been able to hold the perimeter of the Elk Fire at around 431 acres, with 107 acres of park land burned. The fire is 75% contained, and firefighters are continuing to work with the goal of full suppression.

The area around the Elk Fire remains closed, but there are no other closures in the park.
