Fall Colors in Mono County – Mono County Tourism
September 10, 2019: believe it or not, fall is officially under way in Mono County! It was 24 degrees in Bridgeport this morning and the first few yellow and orange leaves have been spotted in the upper elevations of Rock Creek, Sagehen Summit and Virginia Lakes. All three of these locations are just getting going with almost exclusivly green and lime green leaves, the Guide:
0-10% – Just Starting
10-50% – Patchy
50-75% – Near Peak (Go Now!)
75-100% – Peaking (GO NOW!)

Walker Canyon (5,200′) – 0%
Walker, Coleville and Topaz – 0%

BRIDGEPORT / VIRGINIA LAKES
Twin Lakes (7,000′) – 0%
Virginia Lakes (9,819’) – 0-10% The first few leaves have started to turn yellow! Still very early with most everything still having green or lime green foliage.
Conway Summit (8,143) – 0%
Summers Meadow (7,200′) – 0%
LEE VINING
Tioga Pass (9,943′) – 0%
Lee Vining Canyon (6,781′) – 0%
Lundy Lake & Canyon (7,858′) – 0%
BENTON & 120 EAST
Sagehen Summit (8,139’) – 0-10% Still mostly green and lime green leaves. This location is traditionally the first to reach full peak in Mono County. Keep your eye on this spot over the next 7-10 days to be the first on our list with a “Go Now” designation.
