Death Valley National Park reports
this weekend was the only rain we’ve gotten since July.Altogether we’ve gotten .54 in in the last 2 days. This is very late rain, which means the flower forecast is not good 😦

I was there the day before, and headed towards Las Vegas the day the rain came. I stopped at Red Rock Canyon, just outside LV, to wander around with my (weather resistant) camera. It was beautiful, and the smell of rain int he desert was amazing. I’m in the Seattle area – we don’t get that smell because it rains so much! 😉 Thanks for including this note from the rangers – interesting! (And nothing like escaping Seattle in January for rain in Vegas!).
