Saturday May 14 is the official International Migratory Bird Day (IMBD).  It highlights and celebrates the migration of nearly 350 species of migratory birds between nesting habitats in North America and non-breeding grounds in Latin America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. However, most birds don’t know this and migration patterns do not necessarily correlate with the official date, the second Saturday in May.  Therefore IMBD is now celebrated almost year-round.  Most U.S. and Canada events take place in April and May, while fall events are the norm in the Caribbean and Latin America.  To learn more go to:  http://birdday.org/birdday
