Marin Wildflowers County Wildflowers 4/26/16

The Marin County CNPS Facebook page Marin Native Plants has the following new reports

Strolled up down and around Azalea Hill/Pine Mountain today. There are probably over 100 Calochortus umbellatus blooming in the first 1/2 mile of Pine Mountain Road. On Azalea Hill there are great patches of Leptosiphon mixed through grass. Hard to photograph but very lovely. I don’t have time to label/id the photos now — will go back and do that tomorrow. If you want to go, here are the direction to the trailhead — note that Fairfax-Bolinas Road is closed at the trailhead — there is no access from Ridgecrest. http://bahiker.com/northbayhikes/carsonfalls.html

I hiked a loop around Lake Lagunitas. I always love the area, but Pilot Knob Trail was a little shabby looking, almost too much grass. Not many flowers on Pilot Knob, but some nice displays on Lake Lagunitas Fire Road
